I was also glad to see that the AA batteries were already installed.To reduce the loudness of the camera's sound effects, I covered the speaker with Scotch tape before giving it to my child. It is now a much more manageable volume and so far neither child has even noticed the modification. I do hope, as another reviewer mentioned, that future versions of the camera can be muted for use on quiet occasions.He was always grabbing our camera or phone and taking self portaits so we thought he would like it. It is perfect for him. It is very durable and he loves how the camera swings from front to back. The pictures are good quality, not great but good enough for Facebook, etc. The video function works good as well. One note it does not come with a USB cable, which to be honest is not a big deal as we have more than enough of them sitting around. We also bought a memory card to add to the camera so that it would not run out of memory. The magnet seems to bee too strong on my machine so the spindle isn't able to disengage when trying to open the tray. The result is blocking. It is of course possible that the electric motor moving the tray and the spindle movement is too weak. Careful! The clips may break easily. 12) Cut small pieces of tape (or use thick drawing paper). The idea is to lift the magnet slightly upwards. We thus use tape or paper as shims. Only Con: Lack of support for the Macintosh. You can download pictures but not get access to Kid-Tough Digital Studio as it only supports windows.
